If you’re like me, you probably spend endless hours researching different skin care products and how to maintain healthy, glowing skin.
There are a number of factors that contribute to the health of your skin. Things like your diet, exercise regime, sleeping habits and over lifestyle can affect your skin. We can’t stop the natural aging process but we can slow it down, here’s how.
1. ALWAYS APPLY SUNSCREEN
Especially if you’re living in a harsh climate (like Australia), you should always slip, slop, slap. If you want a nice tan sure, lay in the sun, but if you want to prolong your youthful, glowing always better sit in the shade.
Even during the winter months, always apply a sunscreen that protects against UVA rays (the ones that cause premature aging) and UVB rays (one of the main causes of skin cancer).
2. CREATE A CONSISTENT SKINCARE ROUTINE
Having a consistent skin care routine that works well for your skin type is important. Create habits so that you are looking for your skin morning and night. Washing your face with cold water in the mornings for blood circulation.
I know you’ve all heard it before but always remove your makeup before bed, please!
3. KEEP YOUR PHONE CLEAN
We are on our phone 24/7, so they become quite germy. When we take a phone call or touch our face after using our phone, those germs can transfer onto our skin.
Use antibacterial wipes to ensure your phone and skin is nice and clean.
4. DRINK THAT H2O
Have you heard the saying if you’re thirsty you’re already dehydrated?
Water is such an amazing tool to hydrate and clear the toxins out of your skin. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, more if you are active, and achieve healthy glowing skin.
5. NO MORE HOT SHOWERS
Especially if you are like me and struggle with eczema, hot water is your worst enemy.
Putting your head under the shower head strips your skin of its natural oils, causes redness and inflammation, and can cause damage to your blood vessels.
6. GET MORE SHUT-EYE

7. STICK TO A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
A balanced diet is also vital for healthy skin. Eating a diet rich in fruits, veg, grains and protein is key. Avoid dairy and processed foods and to look and feel your best.
