There’s something about enjoying poached pears during winter that just tastes and feels like Christmas.
I gently poach them in a light cinnamon syrup with hints of spice and warm undertones of honey. Poached pear is my favourite dessert or breakfast spooned over protein yogurt and oatmeal.
POACHED PEAR PROTEIN INGREDIENTS
- 1-2 pears
- 1 tsp stevia
- 1/2 cup of yogurt
- 1 scoop of protein
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Cinnamon sugar or honey
POACHED PEAR PROTEIN METHOD
Place 4 cups of water, the cinnamon stick & stevia in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to the boil then reduce heat to medium-low.
Add pears and cook, partially covered for 20 minutes or until pears are tender. Remove from heat & allow pears to cool in syrup.
- Mix yogurt, protein powder & oats together and place pears on top.
- Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar or drizzle honey on top and enjoy!
