Wearing glasses doesn’t mean your eye makeup has to suffer. There is a tonne of makeup tips you can utilise to look bomb in your favourite spectacles.
I was inspired to create this video today because my new glasses from Firmoo arrived! I am in love with the clear frame and gold detailing.
I’ve come up with my top 5 tips for making your eyes look amazing in glasses.
USE EYESHADOW SHADES THAT ENHANCE YOUR EYE COLOUR
To make your eyes pop behind those glasses use eyeshadows that are going to enhance your eye colour. The easiest way to find the colours that enhance your eye colour is to find your eye colour on the colour wheel and look directly opposite that colour.
For my blue/grey eyes, orange shades make my eyes pop.
KEEP YOUR LIDS LIGHT AND BRIGHT
When wearing glasses any issues are going to be slightly amplified so it’s best to keep your shadows neutral and bright. Using a shimmer shadow or a highlight on the middle of your lid, under the brow and on your tear ducts is going to help open up your eyes.
Quick tip: pop a white eyeliner in your waterline, this is going to create the illusion of larger eyes.
MATCH THE WIDTH OF YOUR EYELINER TO YOUR FRAMES
You don’t want your eyes to compete with your glasses. When applying eyeliner, match the thickness of your liner to the thickness of your frames.
CURL YOUR NATURAL AND FALSE EYELASHES
When wearing glasses curling your eyelashes with an eyelash curler is a must. It helps to open up your eyes and also stops your lashes from touching your lenses. This also applies if you’re wearing false eyelashes, yes it’s OK to curl your false eyelashes.
USE CONCEALER TO HUDE SHADOWS
When you wear glasses not only do you have to hide any dark circles you may have but you also have to deal with the shadows glasses cast on your face. Sucks, I know, but you can fix this by applying a brightening concealer.
Quick tip: make sure you apply a translucent powder to set under your eyes to avoid creasing and so your makeup stays put all day. This will also help stop makeup transferring to your glasses.
These are tips that will help your makeup to complement your glasses and bring balance to your face. However, never let wearing glasses stop you from wearing whatever eye makeup you desire.
