Last weekend Tazz and I went snowboarding at the Falls Creek and Mount Hotham ski resorts in Australia. It was one of our best trips yet! Here’s why you should visit too!
SNOWBOARDING SEASON AUSTRALIA
I’ll be honest, I’m not a massive fan of the cold. I hate dry skin and having to bundle up all the time but I do love snowboarding!
Last weekend we visited Falls Creek and Mount Hotham which are my two favourite ski resorts in Australia. There was no fresh pow-pow (snow) but we were lucky enough to get bluebird days!
They are great family-friendly resorts that always provide a fun day out. you always feel safe and have a blast whilst there. Here’s a bit more information about them and why you should visit!
FALLS CREEK VICTORIA
Falls Creek is a snow resort in northeastern Victoria, Australia. It’s known as an alpine and cross-country ski centre!
There are cafes and bars for those of you who wish to stay nice and toasty indoors and lift access slopes to numerous mountains for snowboarding hounds.
There are multiple slopes including the Summit and Wombat’s Ramble. The Great Alpine Road offers sweeping views of the Victorian Alps as you can see in my video.
MOUNT HOTHAM VICTORIA
Hotham has been one of my favourite mountains since visiting for the last 5 years. Like Falls Creek, there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. However, you may want to pack a sandwich as food and drink can get quite pricey on the mountain.

Mount Hotham has a heap of runs for snowboarders and skiers of all capabilities, from beginners to advanced.
The drive to Mount Hotham is a lot easier than the super windy roads you have to take to reach Falls Creek. However, you will enjoy the scenery visiting both Mountains!

SNOW GEAR
If you’re driving, the first thing you should pack is a set of snow chains. Although, this year there was no fresh snow and we didn’t need them. I would always recommend packing them!
Our Snow Gear Checklist:
- Wool/fleece undergarments
- Long sleeve shirt/hoodie
- Snow pants & Jacket
- Sports bra
- Beanie
- Snowboard helmet
- Snow gloves/mittens
- Neck warmer/scarf
- Snow socks
- Snow goggles
- Snowboard boots
- Snowboard (loving my new Jones snowboard!)
Obviously, this is all available for purchase or hire on the mountain but it is a lot less expensive to hire in town at the bottom of the mountain.
If you’re wondering what places to visit in Australia, I definitely recommend visiting Falls Creek and Mount Hotham during their snow season.
I hope you enjoyed this post! If you did be sure to visit me out on YouTube and Instagram.
